Opening an existing file.
Download the following document and save it to your pc.

Once it is saved go to the folder containing the document and open it with
word.Using the Spell Checker
Most of us know how to use the Spell checking features of word but let's
briefly review them. Find a word that has a red wavy line under it.
Right-click on that word. Chose the correctly spelled word from the
list of possible corrections that appear. That is one way to fix
misspelling and typing.
You can also check the entire document at one time by clicking on the
Spelling and Grammar button on the Standard toolbar.
Use the spelling and grammar checker to correct errors in this
documents and then save it as "Brochure 04 Edited"
Using the Thesaurus
Sometimes when you are creating a document you know there is a better word
but you just can't think of it - the built in Thesaurus can help you find
the perfect word.
Ok lets get to it: scroll down until you see the paragraph that begins
"Contoso also provides"
In the second line right-click on the word "Variety" and point to Synonyms
on the menu that appears. A list of synonyms for Variety
appears.
In the list of synonyms, click "Range". Word replaces the word
variety with range.
Using Find and Replace
Press Ctrl+Home to position the insertion point at the beginning of the
document.
On the Edit menu, click Find. The Find and Replace dialog box appears.
In the Find What box, type "meetings", and click the Find Next button.
The Word meetings at the beginning of the second paragraph is now
selected.
Again in the Find and Replace dialog box, click the Find Next button to
move to the next occurrence of the word meetings.

Now the word meetings at the end of the second paragraph is
selected. Click Find Next again - Word tells you it has found the last,
click the OK button to move on.
Now click on the Replace tab. The word meeting should still be in
the find box. in the replace box type "assemblies". When ready
press the Find button until the second word meetings is once
again selected. This time in the Find and Replace dialog box click
the Replace button. Now the word assemblies replaces the word
meeting.
Save the file before going on.
Inserting the current date.
Press Ctrl+Home to position the insertion point at the beginning of the
document.
On the View menu, click Header And Footer.
On the Header and Footer toolbar, click the Switch Between Header and
Footer button.. The view of the document moves to the Footer box on
the bottom of the first page.
Now, on the Insert menu, Click Date and Time. The Date and Time
dialog box will appear showing all of the possible date and time formats.
Click the 3rd format (the month that is spelled out, date, and the year),
and click OK. The date is inserted and the dialog box closes itself.
Press Tab twice to move to the right edge of the footer, type "Last update
on", and then press the spacebar
On the Insert menu, click "Field". The field dialog box will appear.
Click the down arrow on the "Categories" box and choose "Date And Time"
In the Field Names list, click SaveDate, and then click OK. The
Field dialog box closes as the date and time the last time this file was
saves is inserted into the footer.
Click the Close button on the Header And Footer toolbar and save Brochure
04 Edited.
Now email the file as an attachment to me.
