This year's Rising Star is
Student
Dameon Valentine won the Aloha
Kitchen Challenge at Roy's.
The challenge
is part of Roy's 20th Anniversary Celebration. Dameon competed against
students from The Art Institute and The Restaurant School. Each of the three
student chefs was teamed with a celebrity chef; Chef Ari Weisswaaer of Pearl was
Dameon’s mentor. With hard work,
determination, and a lot of passion, Dameon prevailed.
Dameon bolstered the pride of his fellow
students and the school by being selected the best of the challenge.
As the
winner, Dameon received a two-month paid
internship in Hawaii apprenticing with Chef Roy Yamaguchi.
We're sure
Dameon will master "Aloha", but will the kitchen staff at Roy's Hawaii master "Yo"?
