What you will do:
Interviewing applicants through telephone contact and
(face-to-face) personal interviews, to determine motivation, interest, effort
and ability to qualify for our programs.
Reviewing programs, and touring facility with prospective
Discussing accreditation, Placement assistance, and Student
services with each prospective student.
Handling student Enrollment application process.
Conducting daily interviews, monitoring enrollment activities and

Instructor (FOH Operations)
This is a full time faculty
Under the supervision of the Director of Training in
collaboration with other faculty, staff, and the program
advisory committee, this person will conduct program and
curriculum development, and will teach and facilitate
student learning in the core occupational courses of the
Associate Degree program. with
variable hours that may include day, evening and/or
weekend teaching assignments. In addition, faculty
members maintain office hours, develop and maintain curriculum and
programs, and actively participate in the diverse
communities served by the Institute.
The following duties are normal for
this position. These are not to be construed as
exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required
- Develop, maintain and deliver performance-based,
learning-centered hospitality management / culinary arts instruction in
accordance with the mission/vision and philosophy of
- Work with current staff to produce an effective
class schedule to teach all program classes.
- Research and develop appropriate curriculum that
supports current industry practices.
- Provide individual and group assistance to
students in the acquisition of lab, lecture and
internship work competencies that will lead to high
levels of customer service and satisfaction.
- Maintain laboratory and classrooms, including
equipment, sanitation, organization and product
purchasing for lab/program using both local stores
and regional suppliers.
- Work closely with students to incorporate our
philosophy that assists in retention.
- Assist students with registration and
orientation activities that support student success.
- Promote and be involved in culinary
extra-curricular activities including the
American Culinary Federation Club and various
culinary competition opportunities.
- Collaboratively maintain and develop budget for
Culinary Arts Program.
- Establish and maintain contacts with external
stakeholders and partners.
- Develop, maintain, and improve programs and
courses by working collaboratively with other
faculty and administrators through program review,
curriculum and course development, assessment of
student learning, and advisory committees.
- Actively work toward optimizing student
recruitment using a variety of recruiting events.
- Participate in performance appraisal and pursue
professional development that is discipline-
specific, enhances teaching and learning practice,
and expands expertise in other academic fields of
interest to the faculty member and the college.
- Utilize technology to enhance teaching and
learning, as well as other aspects of work.
- Participate in and help organize department
activities including department meetings. Serve and
participate in college-wide community life including
institutional projects, committees and governance.
- Assist students by providing advice regarding
their academic career path and career opportunities.
- Maintain professional affiliations and
- Represent the Institute and interact with
communities and external organizations, advisory committees, and
professional groups related to the field.
- Promote articulations with high schools and
4-year degree colleges.
- Maintain accurate attendance and scholastic
records of students and submit required reports
according to published deadlines.
- Management education Associate Degree level or
higher. Prefer Hospitality Major.
- Four years hospitality industry experience
- Industry-based certifications as applicable.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with
students of varied ages, learning styles, academic
levels, and cultural backgrounds in classroom and
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently
and collaboratively to create and facilitate student
- Demonstrated ability to practice and teach
practical interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to teach. Successful
teaching experience in a post-secondary setting
- Experience with alternative delivery methods
preferred that might include ITV, Internet, Video,
and Accelerated Learning methods.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people
from diverse backgrounds and maintain positive
working relationships across the college and in the
- ACF/FENI/IFSE/NRA certified preferred.
- Computer/technology literate.
